It was a day when nothing really went Wimbledon’s way, as the Dons fell to a 2-0 defeat away to a strong Lewes side. Kevin Foster named an unchanged starting 11 from our away victory to Billericay last Sunday.

It ended in a well-deserved 1-0 win in the first of two face-offs against Watford this week, as the Dons visited Wealdstone FC for their rearranged league fixture. Manager Kevin Foster made one change from Sunday’s cup game, with Hannah Mackenzie stepping back into the starting line-up, and Georgia Clifford moving into defensive midfield in place of Leanne Bell.

The Dons fell to a first defeat of their 2024/25 campaign on a blustery day in Wales. The hosts started the more spritely of the two sides, but without ever really threatening the goal. Wimbledon grew into the game and at about a third of the way in, the travelling squad had the upper hand. Ashlee Hincks had a few chases to put the Dons ahead, but the Gwalia ‘keeper stood firm, and it was goalless at the break.

Our first outing in the Southern Premier Division against former Championship side Lewes FC ended in a heartbreaking draw after a stoppage time equaliser for the visitors.
